Creativity is an energy. It’s a precious energy, and it’s something to be protected. A lot of people take for granted that they’re a creative person, but I know from experience, feeling it in myself, it is a magic; it is an energy. And it can’t be taken for granted.

Every month I am always amazed at the creativity from guild members. As we all keep up with busyness of life, it is good for us to take the time and be creative. And with that in mind, here is some of the creative projects that our members shared this month.

Kathleen experimented with 1 pound of grey merino and ended up with 700 yards of 2 ply.

Sue spun some fluffy super bulky yarn from some polworth. She also shared some Navajo ply.

Sherry shared her long draw singles.

Cirri received some soft musk fiber from Alaska.

Tanya spent some time getting a rug finished. She also took the pin weaving squares that her niece wove and turned it into a cute purse (with a woven band to go as the strap). She also weaves towels as wedding gifts (in the colors of the wedding). With all of this, she also had her 2 year old grandson do a little weaving on a Structo loom.

Monica made beautiful band weaving bookmarks and samples. She also wove a strap for a purse. She also dyed the green so that she could get the color she really wanted.

Mary wove towels from cotton/linen and a rayon scarf. She then spun woolen yarn using punis, rolags, and carding.

Debbie shared the towels she made on the rigid heddle and 3 new books that she purchased.

Patty shared another book that can be checked out from the local library (always the librarian).
